1月18日，国务院发布了《“十四五”现代综合交通运输体系发展规划》（以下简称《规划》），提出将实现自主化先进技术装备加快推广应用，实现北斗系统对交通运输重点领域全面覆盖。
《规划》提出，将推动先进交通装备应用，促进北斗系统推广应用，完善交通运输北斗系统基础设施，健全北斗地基增强网络，提升北斗短报文服务水平。稳步推进北斗系统在铁路、公路、水路、通用航空、城市公共交通以及全球海上航运、国际道路运输等领域应用，推动布局建设融合北斗技术的列车运行控制系统，开展民航业北斗产业化应用示范。在综合交通运输应急保障能力建设方面，稳步推广使用带有北斗卫星应急示位功能的救生衣、救生艇（筏）等。
